There are several factors that contribute to jewelry repair costs. Unfortunately, we must assess each repair individually to provide an accurate price. We recommend you bring the item in for a professional assessment and repair quote. More than 90% of the time, we can calculate cost and provide a quote quickly while you wait. Typically, we do not charge a fee for assessment and quote, unless otherwise stated prior to our assessment.

At Hinkamp Jewelers, we utilize local and offsite jewelry repair experts. Both methods of repair are provided by veterans in the industry with successful multi-decade businesses. Typically, most repairs are completed between two and three weeks. Depending on the time of year, the average minimum time is two weeks, with the maximum amount of time being five weeks.

At Hinkamp Jewelers, we always try to accommodate our clients when we can to ensure your satisfaction. That being stated, jewelry is precious and delicate, so we will never rush what cannot or should not be rushed.

Yes, not only do we sell watches, but we also provide batteries and repair services. Most watch battery replacements and link removal can be completed while you wait. Small and simple repairs may be done in a few days; however, if the watch is not working, needs internal servicing, and/or is missing parts, we will send it to a professional watch repair shop. We offer multiple sources of watch servicing and have a local watchmaker that hand delivers all watch repairs. In addition, we are an authorized repair source for Seiko, Bulova, Tag Heuer, and Rolex.

At Hinkamp Jewelers, we offer appraisal services. A certified gemologist will assess the value of your jewelry and provide written and photo documentation to certify and authenticate your jewelry. No appointment is needed for an appraisal; however, we do require you to leave your jewelry with us to ensure ample time for accuracy in the appraisal. Most appraisals are complete within 3-10 days. Cost for appraisal of four items or less is $75/piece, but ladies’ wedding sets are considered one piece.

Hinkamp Jewelers will always stand by any item we sell, as well as the integrity of repairs. Our vendors offer a manufacturer-defect warranty, and most internally serviced watch repairs include a one-year warranty, although some exceptions apply.

Hinkamp Jewelers is happy to re-repair any item at no charge if it breaks in the same place a previous repair was completed, within a reasonable amount of time (up to our discretion). However, Hinkamp Jewelers cannot offer warranty repairs on worn jewelry originally purchased elsewhere. Additionally, repairs on hollow jewelry cannot be guaranteed.

Rhodium is a precious metal. For jewelry purposes, it comes in a liquid form and is often electroplated on the surface of white gold to enhance its appearance, making it more white instead of its natural state of yellowish. Jewelry may be Rhodium-Plated as often as every four to six months; however, this is not a requirement to maintain the strength of the metal, just the appearance.

Hinkamp Jewelers does buy gold, but does not possess a pawnbroker’s license to buy jewelry for resale. However, for gold, we monitor the market daily and offer competitive rates. If interested, please bring your jewelry to the store for professional assessment.
