Walter (Wally) Hinkamp, Jr.
Wally has been a familiar face at Hinkamp Jewelers since his high school days, when he’d help at the downtown Fayetteville store after school and during the summer. After graduating from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Wally began his full time career in the business founded by his father, Walter Hinkamp, Sr., in 1955. Adding more valuable education to his résumé, Wally earned a Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 1982. As the world’s foremost authority on diamonds, colored gemstones, and pearls, the GIA is a leading source for research, knowledge, and standards in the gem and jewelry industry.
In 1991, Wally and his brother, David, took over management of Hinkamp Jewelers, and assumed ownership in 2000. After David’s tragic and untimely passing in 2012, Wally was joined at the store by his sister, Donna Hinkamp Warren, David’s twin.
Today, you’ll find Wally and Donna’s passion for their trade and the family business translates into the friendly service and extraordinary expertise they provide for each and every customer.
An avid supporter of his industry, Wally is a Past President of the North Carolina Jewelers Association. Additionally, his contributions to our community include serving on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross (Sandhills Chapter) and as a life member of the Exchange Club of Greater Fayetteville. Wally’s wife, Susan, is a retired pharmacist and owner of Bordeaux Drug Co. Their son, Dawson, is a skilled boat builder. When time allows, Wally enjoys golf, hunting, and fishing.

Donna Hinkamp Warren
Born and raised in Fayetteville, Donna is the younger sister of Wally Hinkamp, Jr. and the only daughter of four children. Like Wally, Donna began in the jewelry business by helping in her parents’ store on Hay Street after school and during the summer. After graduation, Donna worked for The Fayetteville Observer and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, where she met husband Michael Warren.
After marriage, Donna raised two children and devoted herself to her family until twin David’s untimely death in 2012. Today, you’ll find Donna sharing her true love of jewelry while making buying a joy for customers, longstanding and new alike.
She especially loves reminiscing about the ‘old days’ with longtime, loyal customers, many of whom have ‘next generations’ who also frequent the store. Donna is elated to help her brother, Wally, continue the Hinkamp legacy – providing exceptional jewelry with superior service, just as she watched her parents do at the business they began so many years ago.
Donna is a proud mother of Lindsay and Taylor, now in succession for their late father’s insurance business, and an adoring grandmother of four. Her other loves are her golden retrievers, and she is an avid supporter of animal welfare. She enjoys spending time at the beach and is a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville.

Amanda Andrus
Amanda has dual responsibilities at Hinkamp Jewelers. Inititally hired as a sales associate in 2009 by the late David Hinkamp, Amanda accepted the offer of an expanded position that included the role of office manager. Amanda has often been described by customers and colleagues alike as “hard-working and honest” for the diligence she demonstrates on the sales floor and in store management. With the experience she’s gained in her years with Hinkamp Jewelers, Amanda is always ready to share her knowledge and eagerly assist customers, addressing inquiries and providing guidance based on specific needs.
Deeply grateful for the trust and respect she has earned, Amanda says, “Being an integral part of this family-owned-and- operated business is a blessing beyond measure.”
Although she didn’t move to Fayetteville until the age of 12, Amanda considers herself a ‘native,’ thanks to the many lasting friendships she has cultivated here. In her free time, she can often be found with her French Bulldog, Fiona, and spending time with her family. A devout Christian, Amanda is an active member of Fayetteville’s Epicenter Church.

Kaitlin Peterson
Delighted to be part of the Hinkamp ‘family,’ Kaitlin joined Hinkamp Jewelers as a sales associate in 2023. Though she was new to the retail arena, her colleagues quickly discovered she was a ‘natural.’ Kaitlin’s dedication to her customers and the business makes her a great team member and true asset.
Born in Virginia Kaitlin relocated at a young age, and considers Fayetteville home. Deeply rooted in her family life, she enjoys supporting her younger siblings’ sporting activities and loves spoiling her Goldendoodle, Kodi. An honors graduate of Grays Creek High School, Kaitlin plans to earn a degree from FTCC while working at Hinkamp Jewelers.
