In 1955, at the urging of his wife, Ruthene, Walter Hinkamp, Sr. joined Robert Tyndall and opened Hinkamp Jewelers on Hay Street in downtown Fayetteville, NC. After nearly 40 years as a beacon of commerce downtown, a second Hinkamp store on McPherson Church Road opened in 1983, and the business was consolidated at this convenient location in 1993.

Serving customers from Fayetteville and surrounding areas for decades, Hinkamp Jewelers has remained a family business with close ties to our community. Sons Wally (Walter Jr.) and the late David Hinkamp became business partners in 1991 and officially took over ownership in 2000.  

Today, you will still find Wally, along with sister Donna Hinkamp Warren, providing exceptional quality items, along with friendly, knowledgable service to customers in the relaxed elegance of their store in Fayetteville’s McPherson Square.
